The Gaokao is regare as suitable preparation for Cambrige. The Gaokao scores of successful applicants will vary from province to province an year to year. As a guieline,successful applicants will usually have scores in the top 0.1% of those taking the Gaokao in their province. In aition to the total score,Cambrige Colleges will pay close attention to iniviual subject scores an scores in the Senior High School Examinations (Xueye Shuiping Kaoshi; previously the Huikao). The Xueye Shuiping Kaoshi alone are not regare as suitable preparation for Cambrige.Applicants stuying for the Gaokao are encourage to unertake aitional stuy outsie of their school qualifications. This might inclue,for example,relevant science Olympias or College Boar SAT I or II; or Avance Placement Tests.
